General Questions

Hair Services

  • Yes. Ravissante proudly uses Aveda, Intelligent Nutrients, and INOA ammonia-free color systems, which are vegan, plant-based, and USDA-certified organic whenever possible.

  • Balayage is a hand-painted technique that gives a softer, sun-kissed look with less noticeable grow-out, while highlights use foils for more precise, defined streaks of brightness.

  • Absolutely! We encourage photos for reference. Your stylist will personalize your look based on your hair type, face shape, and lifestyle.

  • Most guests benefit from trims every 6–8 weeks to maintain healthy ends and shape.

  • Yes. We provide gentle, age-appropriate services for children in a calm environment.

  • A gloss adds shine, enhances tone, and seals the cuticle — perfect for refreshing color between appointments.

  • Definitely. Our AVEDA Botanical Repair & Nutriplenish Treatments restore strength and hydration using organic plant proteins and oils while restructuring the disulfide and hydrogen bonds in the hair shaft.

Japanese Head Spa

  • A Japanese Head Spa is a holistic scalp and hair treatment rooted in Japanese wellness traditions. It combines deep scalp cleansing, exfoliation, steam therapy, and relaxing massage techniques to detoxify the scalp, improve circulation, and promote healthier hair growth.

  • Unlike a standard scalp massage, the Japanese Head Spa is a multi-step, immersive ritual that addresses scalp buildup, hydration, and stress relief. It uses gentle exfoliation, botanical oils, and aromatherapy steam to rejuvenate both the scalp and mind.

  • This service is beneficial for anyone experiencing dryness, oiliness, dandruff, or product buildup, as well as guests looking to stimulate hair growth, reduce stress, and improve overall scalp balance.

  • A typical Japanese Head Spa session lasts between 60–90 minutes, depending on the service level and customization. It includes a consultation, scalp analysis, treatment, and finishing style.

  • Yes. By stimulating blood flow to the scalp and removing impurities that can clog follicles, the Japanese Head Spa supports a healthy environment for hair growth and improved scalp wellness.

  • For best results, most guests enjoy the treatment every 4–6 weeks. It can also be scheduled seasonally or as part of a personalized scalp care routine.

  • Absolutely. The products used are botanical, gentle, and Aveda-approved, making them safe for all hair types, including color-treated and chemically processed hair.

  • Your service will begin with a consultation and scalp assessment, followed by deep cleansing, exfoliation, a soothing massage, and aromatherapy steam treatment. The session ends with a nourishing rinse and a relaxing blow dry or style.

  • A Brazilian Blowout is a professional smoothing treatment that eliminates frizz, adds shine, and improves manageability without compromising volume. It creates a protective protein layer around each strand to seal the cuticle and smooth the hair.

  • Yes. The Brazilian Blowout products used at Ravissante are formulated to meet strict safety standards and are applied by certified stylists in a controlled salon environment.

  • Results typically last up to 12 weeks with proper care and the use of sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner. Many clients notice cumulative benefits with consistent treatments.

  • Not necessarily. The treatment smooths and reduces frizz while maintaining natural body and movement. If you prefer a straighter look, your stylist can adjust the technique accordingly.

  • Yes, it’s safe to color your hair before or after the treatment. If coloring afterward, it’s best to wait about two weeks to allow the treatment to fully settle.

  • Absolutely. It works beautifully on straight, wavy, curly, and coily hair textures, as well as both fine and coarse hair.

  • There are no restrictions after receiving the treatment. The client can wash hair, exercise, put hair in a clip, bun or ponytail the same day as the treatment without issue.

  • You can safely repeat the treatment every 10–12 weeks to maintain smoothness and manageability. Regular treatments can improve long-term hair condition and shine.

  • Brazilian Blowout FREE smoothing treatment is formulated without formaldehyde, methylene glycol, formalin or any other formaldehyde derivative.

  • Over-processed or severely damaged hair may not have the structural integrity to safely undergo the Brazilian Blowout FREE process. Applying a smoothing solution to compromised hair can lead to breakage or uneven results. Your stylist will assess your hair’s condition to ensure it’s strong enough for the service.

  • You can expect smoother, more manageable, frizz-free hair with radiant shine and enhanced softness. Your natural wave or curl pattern will remain, but with noticeably less volume and easier styling.

  • The process typically takes 90 to 120 minutes, depending on hair length, thickness, and texture. This includes cleansing, solution application, processing, flat ironing, and the finishing steps that lock in smoothness.

  • Full Color or lightening services can be performed 2 weeks before receiving the Brazilian Blowout FREE smoothing treatment or 2 weeks after receiving the treatment. However, being that Brazilian Blowout FREE is an off-scalp treatment, root color application can be applied the same day prior to the treatment.
Pastel, vivid, and semi-permanent dyes can be reapplied directly after the flat ironing step of the Brazilian Blowout FREE smoothing service.

  • No. For clients who want to transition away from relaxers, they must wait a minimum of 2 months after receiving a relaxer and their hair must be assessed by the stylist to determine if it is healthy enough to receive a new service.

  • The client must wait a minimum of 2 months after receiving a perm to receive the Brazilian Blowout FREE smoothing treatment. We recommend assessing the health of the hair and conducting a strand test to determine if the treatment can be performed.

  • No, the Brazilian Blowout FREE smoothing treatment should not be performed on pregnant and/or nursing women.

  • Yes, this treatment can be performed on remy human hair extensions—just be sure to apply the solution below the installation area of the extensions. Cotton can be used in between sections to ensure extension anchors are protected. Do not perform the treatment on synthetic/non-human hair extensions.
